ANNOUNCEMENTS
A MESSAGE FROM JANE
Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a restful holiday break! Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Boar’s Head Festival. What a wonderful way to close the Christmas season. Our January project is preparing for Souper bowl of Caring Sunday, Feb. 4th. We will plan, create and prepare for this annual Offering at youth 1/21 & 1/28. Our Focus on Mission to be shared at both services on Feb. 4th. In recent years we have shared ‘deflate-gate’ and Star Wars themed messages. I can’t wait to see what they create with this year! For more information on the actual offering, see the blurb below or visit www.souperbowl.org One last thing…please note that this is a combined January and February newsletter. Our next issue will be in March! Blessings, ~ Jane HOM4Lunch The Hom4Lunch originally scheduled for Sunday, January 15th during coffee hour has been rescheduled for January 21st during Youth. The Sunday evening timing works better for House of Mercy. Souper Bowl of Caring Sunday, February 4th Since 1990, young people from across the nation have been working to fight hunger and poverty in their own communities around the time of the Super Bowl football game. 100% of their donation stays local, being donated directly to the local hunger-relief charity of their choice. Third Church has been an active participant in the Souper Bowl of Caring (SBoC) offering for 12 years. Every dollar, every pound of food stays in Rochester. This year our offering will be shared between 3 hunger ministries…Cameron Community Ministries, Third Church Food Cupboard and our new Youth mission outreach HOM4Lunch where we provide 100 sack lunches to House of Mercy (HOM4Lunch) approximately once a month. Thus far, we have provided sack lunches 4 times with 4 additional Sundays still to come. And we hope to do more! 2017 Third Church Statistics Total Money Raised $2,390.35 Pounds of food donated 262 lbs. of non-perishable food Charities helped 3 - Cameron, Food Cupboard, HOM 2018 Goal…Just One More!
